- Public lecture on the US-Japan relationship will take place on February 5, 2019 from 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in the Toyota Auditorium, UT Howard Baker Center featuring Consul-General of Japan Hirokyuki Kobayashi.
- The Nief-Norf Summer Festival, an annual festival dedicated to contemporary music held at UT-Knoxville every summer will take place on June 15-17. This is a three-day research conference on the theme "New Asia", investigating through scholarly presentations and musical performances the place of Asia in contemporary concert music historically and today. The conference will include presentations by fourteen scholars from around the world, and three concerts of contemporary music for Asian and Western instruments.
- The UT Balinese gamelan's spring concert this Thursday, April 26 at 8 p.m. in the Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall, Natalie L. Haslam Music Center. This exciting program includes a new work for gamelan and bass clarinet, featuring Jorge Variego.
